Ilja Croijmans
People describe me as creative and diversely interested, someone who can thrive independently and in a team. I enjoy acquiring and honing skills and techniques, and consider myself a pragmatic problem-solver with a can-do mentality. I am creative and like to find innovative solutions, and find it important to communicate science clearly and make it accessible and appealing for a broad audience, without taking shortcuts on scientific rigor.
Over 10 years of experience with collecting and analyzing experimental and survey data, and have taught methodological courses on this at Radboud University and Utrecht University. I feel at home with diverse research methods and statistics, including traditional and bayesian statistics, “big data”, machine learning, psycholinguistics, survey research, online research, and (olfactory) behavioral and experimental psychological methods. Skills include R, SPSS, jamovi, some Python, diverse office packages, WordPress, data-visualization, using online participant pools such as MTurk, Prolific, etc.
I am profoundly interested in everything related to smell, flavor, and food: e.g., coffee, chocolate, cheese, wine, whisky, tea and beer. Combine this with science, and there you’ll find me.
